The Dodgers Dominican Baseball Academy, called Campo Las Palmas, is quite a sight. It reminds me of many of the facilities you run across during Spring Training in Arizona or Florida, albeit without all the bells and whistles afforded to a brand new set of buidlings. It feels like a resort but the look — baseball fields, dorms, dining area, batting cages, administration offices — is all baseball. Everybody tells me other clubs patterned their Dominican academies after the Dodgers and after taking a look around, I can see why. Think Dodgertown in Latin America and you have Campo Las Palmas.

Those will be thy best friends, not to whom thou hast done good, but who have done good to thee. Do you agree?
